Occasionally, you may experience issues with your pump and oftentimes, there is a quick and easy solution. By following the steps below, you may be able to avoid an unnecessary service charge.
Your pump is likely connected to a hose bib, and these may be shut off or disconnected. At the hose bib, first check to make sure the pump hose is connected then check to make sure the hose is in the ‘on position’. Once you’ve confirmed the water source is connected properly, try to start your pump. If the pump does not turn on, proceed to step 2.
The pump should be plugged into an outlet. If you find the pump is plugged in, it may be one of the following:
a) The toggle switch on the side of the pump is in the ‘off position’.
b) The breaker at the panel may be tripped.
c) The remote receiver may have gone bad.
If the pump does not turn on, proceed to step 3.
If your pump is operated via remote, the remote receiver may have gone bad. To test, you will first need to ensure the pump power switch is in the ‘off’ position. Unplug the remote receiver from the outlet and then unplug the pump from the remote receiver. Plug the pump directly into the outlet. Turn the pump switch to the ‘on’ position. If the pump turns on, the remote and receiver will need to be replaced. You may contact the office and a new remote will be shipped to you.
